One of the best things about life at The Green is our friendly onsite team. We’ll stop at nothing to make sure that you can really make the most of your new home. As much as our development is about beautiful homes for rent near Crawley and unparalleled onsite amenities, service (and serving our residents) is at the centre of everything our team does.
Patrycja Sobolewska is part of that team; someone you can rely on from the moment you first arrive at The Green. Do you want to report a maintenance issue? Or need some help moving in? It could be that you’d like to know the best places to go locally? You can turn to Patrycja with any question that might spring to mind. All you need to do is simply ask!
So, why not get to know your resident services team better and meet Patrycja…
Hi Patrycja, how are you?
Hello. I’m very well thank you!
What’s your background? What did you do before joining The Green?
Customer service, F&B and hospitality is my background. After finishing university, I started working for Premier Inn hotels. I joined the company seven years ago, starting as an F&B team member. During my career, I’ve been a Team Leader and progressed to an Operation Manager role, which I did for five years.
What do you think is the best bit about your role at The Green?
Every day is different at The Green. You get to meet new people from different backgrounds and cultures. It’s a brand new development too, with beautiful scenery surrounding us and easy access to London, Brighton and Gatwick.
I think the best part of working at The Green is seeing how the residents are forming a new community. Our residents are getting to know their neighbours and sharing common interests. I love taking part in organising resident events. Everyone enjoys themselves, and it’s also another chance for them to get a chance to talk to one another.
What is a typical day like for you at The Green?
A typical day at The Green includes answering queries and emails from residents. My main focus, however, is making sure the site is well presented, as well as our security procedures. My day also involves showing prospective residents round, lettings, doing inventories and preparing for new residents moving in.
Not only that, but I also take the lead in organising our resident events. We like to put on a wide range of events, so there’s something for all our residents to enjoy. It can be a big sports occasion like the World Cup, or a charity event like our fantastic Curry and Chaat Night.
What do you do when you’re not at work? Do you have any hobbies/interests?
I love to explore and to see new places. Even if it’s just for one day, I’m happy to drive somewhere I’ve never been before. I’m not the type of person who likes to sit at home and watch films; I’d rather spend my free time outdoors.
Apart from that, I’m also renovating my home in Southampton. I’m spending a lot of time searching for new ideas and interior designs that I could use.
If a resident asked you for a recommendation for a) dinner, b) a day trip or c) a local attraction, what would you suggest?
One of our local attractions that I personally recommend is Tilgate Park. It’s very popular in Crawley if you want somewhere to cycle around. It also has a golf course and nature centre, where you can find a mix of domestic and wild animals.
For dinner, I’d recommend Leo’s Tapas restaurant on Crawley High Street. It offers a wide range of homemade Portuguese and Spanish food, which I absolutely adore! The atmosphere and hospitality is truly unique; I’d definitely say this is is one of my favourite restaurants in Crawley.
If you’re looking to stay at home, meanwhile, I’d recommend Horsham Tandoori as a takeaway option. Delicious and delivered to your door, this Indian restaurant is one I wouldn’t say no to!
A place I recently visited is Arundel Castle and Gardens, which is famous for spectacular architecture and artworks. The gardens are simply magnificent and really enjoyable to walk around – especially on a sunny day.
