Here at The Green, we’re going the extra mile to make sure you get the most out of your new home. We pride ourselves on the level of service we offer to all our residents. One of your exclusive benefits of renting an apartment or townhouse here is having your very own resident services team. Chris Dias is part of that team – and he’s here to help you…
From the moment you arrive at The Green, Chris is a friendly face you can depend on. From reporting a maintenance issue to help moving in and asking for the best place for a nice meal nearby; he’s one of your go-to people while living with us! So, please allow us to help you get to know your resident services team better as we invite you to… Meet Chris!
Hi Chris, how are you?
I’m very well, thank you.
What’s your background? What did you do before joining The Green?
After graduating from Loughborough University in 2006, I started working for an estate agent in Surbiton, Surrey. I remained there for nine years. My background is in lettings; most recently, I was Lettings Manager for another estate agency in South London.
What do you think is the best bit about your role at The Green?
I love working at The Green because of its fantastic setting; in among the trees and countryside, surrounded by farms. It’s nice to some greenery every day, rather than the hustle and bustle of a city.
I’m based in the residents’ Clubhouse and that’s great fun too. I get to see the residents enjoying their facilities every day; watching TV, playing in the sports court or working up a sweat in the gym.
No one day is the same either. There have been challenges in getting the site set up, but I feel the positive feedback we receive has made it all worthwhile.
What is a typical day like for you at The Green?
Generally, my day involves attending to residents’ maintenance queries; liaising with contractors for various works being carried out; and showing prospective new residents everything we have to offer. I also do the inventories for our properties, as well as pre-tenancy cleans and check-ins to release the keys and manuals.
You’ll often see me running around the site on my phone; much to the amusement of my colleagues. At least my step counter is pleased with the number of steps I’m able to achieve on a normal day!
What do you do when you’re not at work? Do you have any hobbies/interests?
I love ALL kinds of sports and like to play football and tennis. You may well see me joining in with a few rallies on our private residents’ sports court! In my spare time, I like to cook too; I’ve even been known to bake the odd cake or two! I’m a keen traveller and I love to visit old cities, especially for their architecture and history.
My interests include interior design, though I’m not particularly creative. And I do love browsing the shops for ideas and inspiration, which have come in handy when helping to set up our show properties here at The Green.
If a resident asked you for a recommendation for a) dinner, b) a day trip or c) a local attraction, what would you suggest?
Buchan Country Park is 170 acres of award-winning green space just 10 minutes from The Green. It’s an excellent place for the avid walker or nature enthusiast.
Crawley Leisure Park is the nearest place for entertainment, with a fantastic 15-screen cinema with IMAX and IMAX 3D. There’s also a gym, bowling alley and a number of retail outlets and superb restaurants with free parking for around 1,000 cars.
We’re also 10 minutes away from the train station, just in case you fancy popping up.
